HESI
GENERAL INFORMATION
The HESI Entrance Test is:
Required for admission to the Traditional and Accelerated Undergraduate Nursing Programs. It evaluates general knowledge in areas of Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Grammar to assess each students’ strengths and weaknesses.
A HESI Test Study Guide is available by calling the publisher at (800) 950-2728. The name of the guide is "Admission Assessment Review", 2nd Edition. The ISBN is 9781416056355.
When are HESI exams held:
HESI Entrance exams are generally offered during the Fall whereas the HESI mid-curriculum and Exit Exam are only given at certain times that you will be aware of once you are in the Nursing Programs.

The HESI Exam Off-campus:
If you live outside of the state of Florida or you do not live in Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County and need to take the HESI Admission Exam you must locate a secure proctored environment such as a college, university or library then email tscott24@fau.edu with your information.

REGISTRATION
Before you Register
You are responsible for, and thus important for you to pay attention to the:
- Cost of the exam
- Non-refundable / non-rescheduled policy
- Arrival times
- Identification Needed
Testing fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and the test may not be rescheduled. Be sure you are registering for the correct test. You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to testing time. PLEASE BE PROMPT.
Hesi Entrance Exam
Registration is not open to take the HESI Entrance Exam at this time.
Hesi Mid Curriculum Exam
Registration is not open to take the HESI Mid Curriculum Exam at this time.
Hesi Exit Exam
Registration is not open to take the HESI Exit Exam at this time.
PARKING
If you do not have an FAU parking decal you must park in the visitor's parking lot. This is metered parking. For more information regarding visitor's parking visit the Traffic and Parking page.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The FAU Testing Center willingly provides special test accommodations for all candidates who qualify for non-standard test administrations. Please send all documentation to FAU Testing Center no later than two weeks prior to your test date. You can fax your documentation to (561) 297-0170 or drop it off at our office in the Student Support Service Building, SU 80 Room 210.
Documentation of your accommodations must:
- be current— i.e., completed within the past few years for disabilities not of a permanent or unchanging nature.
- describe the specific accommodations requested
- adequately support each of the requested testing accommodation(s)
- be typed or printed on official letterhead and be signed by an evaluator qualified to make the diagnosis.
