RETENTION DATA
To view current retention and graduation data, trends in retention and graduation data and to view student outcomes, please visit the Retention Reporting tool from the Office for Institutional Effectiveness and Analysis (IEA)
This retention tool allows colleagues and academic departments to better understand their students' characteristics and credentials, and examine their outcomes at FAU. The tool allows you to:
- View a summary of entering students for a selected college, department or major, or for the entire University.
- Examine demographic characteristics and entering credentials for the selected group of students.
- View a summary of outcomes, as well as a more detailed analysis of specific outcome categories.
- View characteristics and outcomes for a subgroup of students that you specify (e.g., females only, full-time students only, PBCC transfers only, Education Majors only...).
In addition to the data available at the IEA Website, the Retention staff collect data on specific student concerns and problems that have led to withdrawal from the University as well as working with persisting students to determine what we do well and what obstacles they face that we can help resolve before it leads to attrition.
SURVEY RESULTS:
The Office for Student Retention utilizes results from University-wide surveys to determine problems that students face in completing their educational objectives. Click HERE to view results of surveys conducted at FAU, including:
- The Student Satisfaction Survey
- Alumni Survey
- Graduating Senior Survey and
- The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
The Office for Student Retention also conducted an "Entering Student Survey" in 2001 and 2002. Click HERE to see the survey.
A NEW INITIATIVE! Currently, the Office for Student Retention is designing a new assessment tool for incoming Fall 2007 freshmen. CARES (College Assessment of Readiness for Entering Students) will be distributed to all FLC and LLC students in the Fall of 2007 - be sure to check back for a copy of the assessment and the results!
