Research Priority Areas Information
Last spring, the Division of Research announced plans for Florida Atlantic University to identify and implement three to five broad research priority areas that will help distinguish FAU in research and assist us to achieve national prominence. We invited your suggestions and feedback, and over the summer we reviewed the information we received. As a result, with the involvement of the deans and our Research Council, we have defined and outlined the process to identify and implement the priority areas.
this time, we invite all FAU faculty to participate in this process by 1) submitting a pre-proposal and 2) nominating yourself or a colleague to serve on the interdisciplinary research priority areas Steering Committee. The deadline to submit your nominations is September 15, 2009, and the deadline to submit a pre-proposal is October 1, 2009. More detailed information is available below. We look forward to your participation in helping FAU establish research priority areas, build upon our strengths, and develop interdisciplinary programs that will continue to lead us to research excellence.
