Listed below is a short list of web sites to start your search for scholarships, fellowships and other training opportunities. These will lead you to some of the many sources of funding and are by no means the only ones out there. Good hunting!

- Ron Brown Scholarships (www.RonBrown.org). Leadership, community service, all fields.
- Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship (www.JackieRobinson.org). It's renewable. Academic merit, leadership, community service, all fields.
- Kodak Scholarships (www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/students/). For those studying in film/cinematography at U.S. colleges, or go to: motion.kodak.com/US/en/motion/Education/Discounts_And_Scholarships/index.htm
- Intel Science Talent Search (www.sciserv.org/sts) You must present a scientific research project.
- Gates Millennium Scholarships (www.gmsp.org/). The Gates Millennium Scholarship is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for thousands of outstanding students with significant financial need.
- National Society of Black Engineers Scholarships - This is primarily for engineering students, and others majoring in related disciplines (national.nsbe.org/).
- Ambassadorial Scholarships (www.rotary.org/en/StudentsAndYouth/EducationalPrograms/Ambassadorial
Scholarships/Pages/ridefault.aspx). This is the prestigious "rotary" organization scholarship for students who can speak another language and want to study abroad in the "host" country of that language.
- Xerox Technology Minority Scholarship--Go to: www.xeroxstudentcareers.com/why-xerox/scholarship.aspx. This is a good scholarship for strong minority students studying in areas like chemistry, engineering, physics, and "tech" areas.
- National Collegiate Athletic Association - Go to: www.ncaa.org/wps/portal. Postgraduate scholarships annually, for men and women. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. Awards are given in all sports categories and are available for sports related study (like sports journalism).
- National Alliance for Excellence Scholarships--Go to: www.excellence.org/programs.html. The student competitors can be seniors or already in college. They must submit an application that can include recommendations (academics), art (slides), dance (tapes), photographs, or other materials that point to talent and achievement in all areas.
- The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation --Go to: www.truman.gov The is one of the most prestigious scholarship for students who intend to pursue a career in public service or government. You must be at least a junior, and your college must nominate you. A "nomination" package must be created.
- Society of Women Engineer Scholarships These scholarships are for women in engineering or computer science. (societyofwomenengineers.swe.org/ ).
