Grant Award Management
Notice of New Award
You will receive a "Notice of New Award" from Sponsored Programs.
The Next Steps
Research Accounting is responsible for the post-award administration of externally funded research projects and programs at Florida Atlantic University. Go to http://www.fau.edu/research/ocg/.
Research Accounting will issue a new FAU account number, a FRS number, and position numbers, as appropriate.
With this information, Research Accounting sets up new grant accounts, invoices sponsors, prepares financial reports required by the sponsors and closes out grant accounts. Research Accounting also provides guidance on post-award research administrative topics including the allowability of costs on sponsored projects, cost share, program income, and other compliance related topics.
When you have received the new account numbers, the following documents need to be completed by the Department representative to initiate your new grant and forwarded to the Research Accounting :
Account Maintenance Form - Complete and send to the Controller's Office (Lora Stern). Be sure to include Principal Investigator's signature and make a copy for yourself. This form is not interactive and must be printed out and completed manually. Go to www.fau.edu/controller/signature_system/PDFs/sig_acct.pdf
On-Line Budget Transfer - Budget transfers will need to be processed by using the Banner form FGAJVCM. Complete and forward to Sponsored Programs for approval. The budget amounts should agree with the budget approved by the sponsor.
To expedite the process for Federal grants or Federal Flow-Through grants, Research Accounting will also need to have the following information: the CFDA #, CFDA title, prime award name, prime award number, and prime award project period. For Federal Flow- Through grants, the post award materials should include information about the Federal terms and conditions with which that FAU must comply.
