OBTAIN and
COMPLETE the required high school
form(s) from your guidance or your High School Dual Enrollment
Coordinator.
SUBMIT the FAU Legal
Compliance (Need current version of Adobe Acrobat)
and the FAU Dual Enrollment Authorization
forms each term of enrollment.
MAIL
or bring all
required form(s) to the High School Dual Enrollment
Office.

STUDENTS:
Eligible previous high
school dual enrollment students will be able to register
on-line via Self Service
website. Check for any "holds" against your
registration. These must be cleared by:
January 4, 2010
The procedure for internet
registration are outlined below:

Have a guidance
counselor/high school dual enrollment coordinator,
principal, etc. complete
forms. Indicate primary courses and also alternate
courses (you cannot register until December 20, 2008 for
the Spring). You can only be registered for courses
listed and approved by your high school. It is
strongly recommended to indicate alternate courses on
your authorization form.

Completed forms must
be received by the deadline date for current students.

Upon receipt of the
completed forms, authorization will be given for the
primary courses listed on the form.

beginning on:
January 4, 2010
If you find that
courses are closed, try to register for other sections
of the same course or your alternate course.

After registering,
check Self Service
website to make sure you are registered and print out
your schedule.

You are responsible
for the cost of textbooks. Textbooks can be
purchased at the FAU Bookstore (off the covered
breezeway, near the Marketplace cafeteria) or at
Booksmart (on Glades Road, south side, near FAU's 13th
Street entrance).
NOTE:
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION:
- All courses
must satisfy high school graduation requirements.
- Since
registration is on an available space basis, selection of
alternate courses is advisable. Registration is always
just a few days before the semester begins. Students
should be checking the course listings periodically to see if
their class choices are still open before
registration.
- TEXTBOOKS
-- Non-public and Broward County charter high school students
are responsible for purchasing textbooks/materials for
courses.
Students
cannot register for :
- directed
independent study courses
- study abroad
courses
- graduate level
courses
- courses which
the prerequisites have not been met
- Business
courses--Only Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Intro to
Business can be taken without prior approval from
instructor
- GEO 3314
(World of Wines)
- English
courses--3000 and 4000 level
- Students must
earn at least a "C" (2.0) in each FAU course to remain in the
program.
- The following
1000 and 2000 level courses are identified as Advanced
Placement equivalent by the State Articulation Coordinating
Committee and will receive weight 1.5 times the standard
weight: (Math) MAC 2311, MAC 2312, MAC 2313, MAP 2302,
(Physics) PHY 2048, PHY 2049, (English) ENL 2012, ENL
2022,(Economics) ECO 2013, ECO 2023, (Chemistry) CHM 2210,
CHM 2211. The weight for 3000 and 4000 level courses
will be 1.5 times the standard weight.
- Students who have taken
AP courses and will use them as prerequisites will need to
provide proof of those scores along with the high school
form.
- Students
taking dual enrollment courses are subject to the rules and
regulations of Florida Atlantic University as stated in the
FAU University
Catalog.
- Students will
be exposed to a learning environment that promotes an open
exchange of ideas. Course content is presented on an
adult level and class discussions require a mature
understanding of divergent viewpoints and the ability to
think critically on controversial issues.
- Course
Listings (days/times) are available on the "Self Service" link.
Please check the availability of courses before
arriving for in-person registration. Alternate
course(s) should also be selected because: Course registration will be only for
those courses listed on the dual enrollment authorization
form and approved by your high
school.

- After
registration is complete, parking decals can be obtained at:
www.fau.edu/parking.
The decal will be mailed to your home address.
