 HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLMENT
REGISTRATION INFORMATION

BROWARD COUNTY PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENTS ONLY

OBTAIN and COMPLETE the required high school form(s) from your guidance counselor or high school dual enrollment coordinator.

MAIL or bring required form(s) to high school Dual Enrollment Office.

  • Complete parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and sign part 10.

  • School completes part 9 AND SAT/ACT/CPT test results section


PREVIOUS STUDENTS:

Eligible previous high school dual enrollment students will be able to register on-line via FAU's Self Service website  (http://myfau.fau.edu).  Check your student account for any "holds" against your registration. Holds must be cleared before the Summer/Fall semester so that you can register via Self Service.

The procedure for internet registration are outlined below:

  1. Print the Broward County Dual Enrollment Authorization form.  Complete Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and sign Part 10.  Your school completes Part 9. You can register only for the courses listed on this form.  You may submit an alternate course list with this form that is signed and dated by a guidance counselor on school letterhead.

  2. Completed forms must be received before the deadline date for current students. MAIL TO: Demarus Johnson, Florida Atlantic University Office of the Registrar, 777 Glades Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33431 or FAX TO: 561-297-2081.

  3. Upon receipt of the completed form, authorization will be given for the primary course(s).

  4. You can register online http://myfau.fau.edu beginning on:

    If you find that courses are closed, try to register for another section of the same course or your alternate course.

  5. After registering, check Self Service website to make sure you are registered.  Print out your schedule.

  6. When your registration is complete, bring your schedule to Demarus Johnson in SU 145 before classes begin to pick up your book voucher.  Take your voucher to the FAU Bookstore to pick up your books.

  • You will be charged a student fee ($60/Fall and Spring; $25/Summer) payment is due by:

    This is a recurring charge each term.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • All courses selected must satisfy high school graduation requirements.
  • Since registration is on a space-available basis, selection of alternate courses is advisable. 
  • Students should check the course listings periodically to see if their class choices are still open before registration.

Students cannot register for:

  • directed independent study courses
  • study abroad courses
  • graduate level courses
  • courses for which the prerequisites have not been met
  • Business courses--Only Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Intro to Business can be taken without prior approval from instructor
  • GEO 3314 (World of Wines)
  • English courses--3000 and 4000 level

  • All courses must be at least three (3) credit hours and taken for a grade, not PASS/FAIL. "I" (Incomplete) or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grades are not acceptable.
  • The following 1000 and 2000 level courses are identified as Advanced Placement equivalent by the State Articulation Coordinating Committee and will receive weight 1.5 times the standard weight:(Math) MAC 2311, MAC 2312, MAC 2313, MAP 2302, (Physics) PHY 2048, PHY 2049, (English) ENL 2012, ENL 2022, (Economics) ECO 2013, ECO 2023, (Chemistry) CHM 2210, CHM 2211.  The weight for 3000 and 4000 level courses will be 1.5 times the standard weight.
  • Students must earn at least a "C" (2.0) in each FAU course to remain in the program.
  • Students who have taken AP courses and want to use them as prerequisites for FAU courses will need to submit proof of those scores along with the registration forms.
  • Students taking dual enrollment courses are subject to the rules and regulations of Florida Atlantic University as stated in the FAU University Catalog.
  • Students will be exposed to a learning environment that promotes an open exchange of ideas.  Course content is presented on an adult level and class discussions require a mature understanding of divergent viewpoints and the ability to think critically on controversial issues.
