New Student Orientation at the Treasure Coast Campus
Several Orientation sessions are offered at the Treasure Coast Campus before each semester. Once accepted to FAU, all students are required to attend a session before they may register for classes. Check out the frequently asked questions below for details.
What is Orientation?
Orientation is a structured interactive session that will assist you in preparing for your transition into FAU. By attending, you will learn about the resources, requirements and opportunities available to you that will ensure you are successful. As part of orientation, you will have an opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to discuss your coursework.

What if I cannot attend Orientation?
The information you will receive at Orientation is vital to your success at FAU. It is mandatory that all students attend a session. However, if you cannot attend a session, you may complete a Virtual Orientation. You must meet with an advisor before you may register for classes. You will need to provide your advisor with the confirmation letter you receive once you complete the virtual orientation.
What is appropriate dress for Orientation?
Orientation is a casual event. Please wear something comfortable. Remember that the classrooms may get cool, so dress accordingly.
Should I bring anyone with me to Orientation?
Family members are encouraged to attend Orientation. It is helpful for your support system to have an inside view on what you will be experiencing while at FAU.
