President Brogan,

Far too often, people will go a long time without telling a loved one how much they care for them and appreciate everything that person does. I sincerely hope that has not be the case with me but for the record I wanted you to know how much you've meant to me.

You are a big part of why I am the leader I am today. Your positive encouragement and willingness to take the time out of your schedule to mentor me was truly priceless...The single greatest leadership ingredient that I gain from our relationship was "Positive Encouragement". I've been able to accomplish great feats and have had many who report to me do the same by simply implementing this tactic of "Positive Encouragement". Great leaders have the ability to bring the best out of people and you’ve certainly done that with me.

Thank you for being a wonderful leader, a giving mentor and a loving friend who always strove to bring the best out of others. I pray that PEACE and SUCCESS are the beginning to the many blessings that God has in store for you and the entire Brogan Family. Please don't hesitate to call if I can ever be of assistance.

Hi, President Brogan,

I just found out that you may possibly be leaving FAU to pursue the position of the Chancellor for the State University System of Florida. I am truly fortunate to have seen how you have changed the University and have put FAU on the collegiate map, both as a former FAU student, and a former Office of the President intern. I know that you will take the State University System of Florida to that next level, as well. You are the only University President that I know of that has always been accessible to the student body (i.e. eating in the cafeteria on campus), and I know the FAU family, as a whole, will definitely miss that. I sincerely wish you, Courtney, and Colby John, the absolute best during this time and in even more future endeavors that you may pursue. As a part of the FAU Family, I want to thank you for everything that you have accomplished here at FAU.

When I first found out that you were considering this position I was upset. You have made such a difference for me, here at FAU, and I didn't want you to leave. As a person working here for 13 years I had never felt taken care of by the president, however, you changed that. With the bonuses we received and the extra days you gave for vacation it meant a lot. I always felt that you took care of us, the staff, and will forever be grateful for that. I think you are making the right decision. The education system in Florida needs a strong chancellor to fight for us. You will be greatly missed.

BRAVO!...I thought you were a great Lt. Governor and have been more than impressed by your leadership of FAU. President Frank Brogan is top quality. We are so thankful for his FAU leadership. Our daughter, Brittany Bowe, FAU Senior, has witnessed President Brogan’s passion for education and opportunities for FAU. We cannot think of a better choice for our State University Chancellor. Now the whole state will reap the benefit.

I have had the privilege of serving on the Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees during the presidency of Frank T. Brogan, who will soon leave FAU to become the chancellor of Florida's State University System. This is a time of very mixed emotions for everyone in the FAU community. It will be more than difficult to see President Brogan go, because he has been a truly extraordinary president, carrying out his responsibilities with great energy, vision, dedication and effectiveness.

His accomplishments are far too numerous to list here, but highlights include the establishment of FAU's four-year medical education program, the elevation of FAU's admission standards, the acquisition of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, the development of close partnerships with such research giants as The Scripps Research Institute, the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies and the Max Planck Society, and the addition of more than $250 million in construction projects on FAU's seven campuses.

As the Brogan era ends at FAU, all of us on the Board of Trustees offer heartfelt thanks for a job well done, and we congratulate him on his new position. With Frank Brogan as chancellor, we can all be certain of one thing: Our State University System will be in good hands.
