500 Nations, An eight-part documentary that looks back at life in North America before the arrival of the Europeans, then follows the epic struggles of Indian Nations as the continent is reshaped by contact. More than 2,000 images and dozens of animated sequences. Hear the voices, music and untold stories. See the art and architecture.
A History of American Indian Achievement, hosted by Tyler Christopher (Choctaw/Seneca), Four Disc Set. "Tyler chronicles the survival of the Native American Indian in spite of oppressive wars and destruction that attempted, but did not succeed, in removing Native American Indians from their culture and their future. This story tells of individual Native American Indian accomplishments that have never been told."
The Great Indian Wars 1540-1890, A Five Part Documentary Series. "The Year 1540 launched the inevitabler 350 year struggle between teh United States and Native American Indians where blood was shed and ultimately tens of thousands of lives were lost on both sides. The Battle of Tippercanoe, the Battle of Horsehoe Bend, all three Seminole Wars and the Battle of Wounded Knee, where America's landscape would be forever changed".
Native American Indian Heritage Month events in the Division of Student Affairs are co-sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs in consultation with Dr. Enid Conley, FAU Alumna; the South Florida Story-telling Project and Student Government BSUMP.
