StudyMate Author lets you create nine Flash-based activities and games using three simple templates. The Flash activities can be used with any web server or published directly to Blackboard. StudyMate Author will import items from Word files and publisher test banks, making it easy to create interesting, interactive activities from existing content. Best of all, you don't have to know Flash programming or HTML to use StudyMate Author.

To request your own copy of StudyMate Author please fill out a service request at the Computer Support Center site.

(NOTE: StudyMate is compatible with the Windows operating system. Mac users can run StudyMate using Windows emulation software such as Connectix Virtual PC. See system requirements below).

StudyMate Author Features:

Create Flash-based activities and games using an "offline" Windows interface
Three templates let you create nine activities and games (view sample activities here)
Create activities for use on iPods, Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) and other small screen devices
Import existing content from Respondus, MS Word, rich-text, IMS QTI, and other formats
Download publisher test banks for use with StudyMate from the Respondus Test Bank Network
"Spell check" an entire file (includes dictionaries for English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, and a comprehensive medical dictionary)
Insert graphics such as gif, jpeg, bmp, png, and pcx
Convert oversized graphics to a suitable size with one click
Embed audio files such as mp3 or wav
Insert mathematical and scientific symbols using the built-in Equation Editor or MathType
Create algorithmic questions using the “Calculated” template
Add links to content on other servers with the Web Link tool
Use the Quick Copy Wizard to quickly assemble activities from existing StudyMate files or publisher test banks
Randomize questions and answer choices so the activity is different each time it's started

The minimum system requirements for Respondus and StudyMate are mostly the same:

Operating System
Windows 98, NT4, ME, 2000, XP.

Memory
32 MB RAM minimum.

Hard Disk Space
10 MB of free hard disk space for program files.

Monitor
800x600 minimum (1024x769 recommended)

Download Time
The file size is approximately 8 MB, which should take less than two minutes to download with a standard Internet connection.
