Great university tradition begins with the bond that unites students with their professors and classmates. A top priority at Florida Atlantic University is to provide programs and places that will heighten the traditional university experience for our students and all members of the FAU community.
Innovation Village is a key component of our vision. To be constructed in the north central area of the Boca Raton campus, Innovation Village will offer unique opportunities for living, learning, dining, shopping, having fun and building tradition.
The Boca Raton campus’ central Breezeway will serve as the gateway to Innovation Village. Construction is already under way on two important neighboring projects, a student recreation/fitness center and the Marleen and Harold Forkas Alumni Center. Planning has already begun for the housing and retail components of Innovation Village.
The centerpiece of Innovation Village is the 30,000-seat football stadium that will make the fanfare, festivities and traditions of Division I football come alive at FAU.
The Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees took the first step in broadening the campus life opportunities available at FAU by unanimously approving the development of the FAU Innovation Village, a housing, recreation and retail complex that will include student residence halls, shopping and dining establishments and a 30,000-seat, open-air stadium on the Boca Raton campus. This addition will provide improved student life and richer experiences for those who study, live, visit and work at Florida Atlantic University.
Campus life has changed dramatically since FAU first opened its doors in 1964. The first generations of FAU students enjoyed their University experience, but the FAU Innovation Village is going to expand the student life opportunities available to the next wave of FAU students. In the next decade there will be more than 5,000 students living on the Boca Raton campus, extensive social activities will be developed for those students, our future alumni and all who visit the University that bolster a sense of excitement, spirit and pride at FAU. The Innovation Village will benefit the students and the community for many generations to come.
