The Secret Life of Goliath Groupers:

Presented by Sarah Frias-Torres, Ph.D.

Ocean Research & Conservation Association

About the Lecture

Goliath grouper is the largest grouper fish in the Atlantic Ocean, and the least understood of all grouper species. At a record 6 feet long and half a ton in weight, this gentle giant is charismatic, curious of divers, and critically endangered. Join marine biologist Dr. Sarah Frias-Torres in a virtual dive to understand the biology, behavior, and current threats to the last of the giant reef fishes left in the world.

Johnson Education Center, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at Florida Atlantic University,  5600 US 1 North, Fort Pierce, FL.  Telephone 772-242-2506.
