Bank of America Florida's Community Scholars Program (website, application)
Awards of $2,000 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen entering a state public university. Students must demonstrate financial need; please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility. Recipient must demonstrate a history of community service and must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Award will be evenly divided between fall and spring terms. Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowships (website, application)

FANJUL Academic and Community Excellence Award (website, application)
Awards of $2,500 per year, renewable for up to four years for students who maintain good academic standing while enrolled at FAU. The Fanjul award is designed to recognize students who have worked for academic excellence and have demonstrated leadership service in their community. This award is only available to students in western Palm Beach County who attend Pahokee, Clewiston and Glades Central High Schools , and who are planning to enroll at Florida Atlantic University as first year freshmen. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship (website, application)
The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for US undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. National Scholars Honor Society Scholarship (website)
The Society strives to reward and encourage personal growth and development, as well as engender a sense of civic responsibility and dedication to our nation's great political process. Our Members include thousands of America's brightest minds and top achievers in the Arts, the Sciences, Medicine, Law, Business and Politics. The National Scholars Honor Society grants scholarships to highly qualified achievers from all academic pursuits. Scholarship eligibility is determined for each new applicant at the time of acceptance, and is reviewed biannually for as long as the member continues to update his file on an annual basis. $19,000 will be awarded in scholarships. Sallie Mae Fund Scholarships (website)
Delivered through The Fund's Project Access program, these scholarships target low income and minority populations in an effort to increase access to higher education. Project Access addresses three key barriers to higher education-awareness of financial aid, academic performance and financial need. Broward Shell Club Scholarship
This scholarship is available for undergraduate or graduate students majoring in the field of marine biology at local colleges or universities. The guidelines for the award are very simple. The student's coursework should include some aspect of malacology (taxonomy, habitat studies, pollution effects, DNA analysis, etc.) and the applicant will be requested to make a presentation to the Club about their research and how the award assisted them in their goals. The MSSM Friendship Scholarship (website)
Christine McFadden created the MSSM (named after Melanie, Stanley, Stuart, and Michelle) Friendship Scholarship must possess the characteristics of friendship - such as the loyalty, service, and compassion that Christine's children exhibited. A friend of the applicant must write a recommendation letter. Any student can apply - an applicant doesn't have to be class president or have top grades. Michael Jon Barlin Scholarship (website)
The Lupus Foundation of America, Southeast Florida Chapter, is privileged to offer an annual scholarship to support the educational expenses of a Southeast Florida resident diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. American Association of University Women - Doris Karlik Scholarship ( application)
The Northern Palm Beach County Branch awards a scholarship to a female student, residing in Palm Beach County, studying for the AA, AS, BA or BS degree or a certificated program equivalent to one of the degree programs listed, and who demonstrates financial need. The completed form, evidence of Palm Beach County residency, an essay, official transcript and two letters of recommendation should be submitted along with the application. U.S. Bank's Internet Scholarship (website)
Available to undergraduate students attending an eligible four-year college or university participating in the U.S. Bank No Fee Education Loan Program are eligible to apply. MENSA Education & Research Foundation Scholarship (application)
This scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written by the applicants. Applicants must currently be a resident of a participating American MENSA local group, be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited U.S. institution and must submit an application and essay explaining career, academic and/or vocational goals. Undergraduate Society Scholarship (application)
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is accepting applicaitons for this scholarship. Applicants must be full-time at an accredited engineering or engineering technology program recognized by ASHRAE with a cumulative GPA of at 3.0. Applicants must also submit three letters of recommendation, demonstrate financial need, leadership ability and work ethics. Federal Government Internships for Civil Engineering Students (website)
The Indian Health Services (a federal government agency of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and the U.S. Public Health Services) is seeking civil, construction, and environmental engineering interns. The Outright Grant Program offers grants for tuition, books and fees up to a maximum amount of $2000 to women who are seeking funds to be used at the junior level or above at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Applicants must be female, U.S. citizen, have at least a 2.5 GPA and be at least at the sophomore level in college when applying for funds.
