Your PIN serves as your electronic signature on the FAFSA. Your FAFSA is NOT complete until it has been electronically signed with your PIN number.

To verify if we have received your FAFSA, log on to MYFAU |
|
- Click on Money Matters! tab
|
|
- Click on "Financial Aid" tab or menu link
|
|
- Click on the "Eligibility" link
|
|
- Click on the "Student Requirements" link
|
| The "Federal Student Financial Aid Application" document will be listed under the Satisfied Requirements section or the Unsatisfied Requirements section. |

| Once the Office of Student Financial Aid has received a transmission of your data (which approximately is the same time when you receive your Student Aid Report in the mail, you may be contacted and asked to submit additional documents to verify the integrity of your application. These documents may include, but are not limited to, the following: |
|
- A copy of your tax return, along with a completed Verification Worksheet.
- A copy of proof of U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen status.
- A copy of your social security card.
- Proof of selective service registration.

3. Submission
| Check the Student Requirements section to determine if there are additional documents that are required in order to further process your FAFSA application (to access Student Requirements - see instructions above). |

Once the FAFSA application has been received and electronically filed, you will be able to access/print a copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA website, only if you have the following:

a PIN from the U.S. Department of Education or |
| ii) |
an email from the U.S. Department of Education with the |
|
subject: "Your U.S. Department of Education FAFSA has been processed." |
Important tips/best practices when completing your FAFSA application:

Apply Early - Beginning January 1st, you may submit the Free |
|
Application for Federal Student Ad (FAFSA). The FAU priority deadline is March 1st. All applications received after that date will be reviewed in order of receipt. Apply online to save time and effort. |

Make sure to complete the planned housing code (on Step 6, |
|
Housing Plan, on your FAFSA form) with your appropriate housing status (leaving this section blank could result in underfunding). |

If you are applying over the Internet, a signature page will be |
|
generated at the end of the application process. You will need to sign this form with your PIN and submit it to the Federal Processor as a verification of the transmitted data. |

Once these three conditionals are met, your file will be classified as COMPLETE. When your file is complete, we can then proceed to award you financial aid. Within three weeks following that data your file becomes complete, you will be notified that you have been offered financial aid awards.
