The Office of Student Financial Aid sends emails to students via their FAU email account notifying them that award(s) have been offered and posted to the system. To receive a deferment of your tuition and fees, you must accept your awards online via MyFAU (accepting an amount which is sufficient to cover your tuition) by the end of the drop/add period.
Awards can be accepted by completing the following steps:

Log on to MyFAU.

Click on the Money Matters! tab.

Click on "View Financial Aid Information" link.
|

Accept financial aid awards, view student requirements, your account summary and frequently asked questions for 2009-2010 academic year.

Select "Financial Aid". |
|
- Click on "My Award Information" link.
- Click on "Award for Aid Year" link.
|

NOTE: If prompted for Aid Year, select "Award Year 2009-2010" for the following terms:
- FALL 2009
- SPRING 2010
- SUMMER 2010

- Click on "Terms and Conditions" tab.
|

- Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Click on the "Accept Award Offer" tab and follow instructions on accepting/declining financial aid awards offered.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please review the [Award Messages] and link at the bottom of the "Accept Award Offers" page to verify if you need to satisfy and/or submit REQUIRED documents to the Office of Student Financial Aid (click on Award Messages link above for sample image).

For each award listed, in the “Accept Award” column, you

MUST select ACCEPT or DECLINE for each award and then click the "Submit Decision" button.
NOTE: If students wish to print out a hardcopy letter of their award(s) offered, click on Print link directly below the General Information tab (upper left corner).
NOTE: If you will not be attending Florida Atlantic University, please DECLINE all awards on the Accept Award Offer page.

EXCEPTION: You may also ACCEPT: a) a partial award amount by selecting Accept in the Accept Award column and enter the amount that you are requesting in the Accept Partial Amount field, b) an award amount that you originally declined/ rejected or c) if you will be enrolled one term ONLY – by downloading & submitting the Award Revision Request Form to the Office of Student Financial Aid. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding your financial aid awards, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid.

If you HAVE NOT previously borrowed a Federal Stafford
|
|
Loan through FAU, or if your last Federal Stafford Loan from FAU was borrowed prior to the 2001-2002 academic year, download the Stafford Loan Requirements Checklist. Complete the required items on this document (name, Z Number, date, and lender designation). This form MUST be read, signed and returned to the Office of Student Financial Aid. If the loan is for the Summer semester, download Summer Loan Important Notice.
NOTE: You are NOT required to resubmit a Stafford Loan Requirements Checklist for Federal Stafford Loan Borrowers, if you have previously borrowed a Federal Stafford Loan through FAU. Your lender will remain the same as indicated on your most recently disbursed Stafford Loan.

Federal Stafford Loans and Federal Stafford Loans are disbursed via EFT. Disbursements will occur either (1) within 10 business days after the end of the drop/add period, if all Federal Stafford Loan disbursement eligibility requirements are met, or (2) within 10 business days after all Federal Stafford Loan disbursement eligibility requirements are met, whichever is later.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you DO NOT have access to a computer, or you are experiencing technical difficulties, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and a hard copy award information letter and unsatisfied requirements will be mailed to you.
IMPORTANT: In order to receive a financial aid refund, students MUST have a current and active address on file with the University. To view or update your address information, log on to MyFAU and click on FAU Self-Service (OWLS) link, click on Personal Information and then click on View/Update Addresses and Phones. Financial aid funds are disbursed after the drop/add deadline of each semester. Tuition and other charges posted to your account will be deducted first. If a credit balance results, the student will receive a refund. Students are encouraged to sign-up for direct deposit.
