Gregory Stuart, Executive Director of the Broward MPO, receives first annual Distinction in Practice Award and Ambreen Bhatty, MURP '93, North Lauderdale City Manager, receives first annual Outstanding Alumni Award

The School of Urban and Regional Planning is pleased to announce the recipient of its first annual Distinction in Practice Award, Gregory Stuart, and its first annual Outstanding Alumni Award, Ambreen Bhatty, MURP '93.

Mr. Stuart is the Executive Director of the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). The Dinstinction in Practice Award recognizes his tireless work and committment to providing Broward County and the tri-county area with a new vision for transportation. Through his work, Mr. Stuart has distinguished himself as a leader in the field of transportation planning.

Ms. Bhatty is the City Manager of North Lauderdale. Since graduating from the MURP program in 1993, she has embodied the spirit of the School through her dedication to the betterment of South Florida's communities. The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes Ms. Bhatty for her outstanding work ethic and leadership, which have brought her success throughout her career.

SURP presented Mr. Stuart and Ms. Bhatty with their awards at the School's World Town Planning Day celebration on Monday, November 9th, in the 2nd Ave Studio, located in the Askew Tower at the FAU Fort Lauderdale campus. That evening also marked the opening of the School's visual planning exhibition in the Studio, which runs throughout the month of November and is open to the public.
