DESCRIPTION: In this special one-time lecture, Sammy will select and add to highlights from prior classes for performance and teaching. He will discuss musical aspects of each piece performed, such as melodies, harmony and rhythm specific to that piece. He also will demonstrate how he goes about creating and performing each piece for his live shows. This onetime lecture will include selections from, and discussions about, Fiddler on the Roof medley and Monti’s Hungarian Czardas.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Sammy Weber attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where, before becoming concertmaster of the string orchestra in the preparatory division, he met and played with Itzhak Perlman. He has excelled as a soloist and has played in numerous venues in New York and Florida. His passion is to play all types of music , and to share his love of and joy in music with others. All his students cannot help but “catch” this infectious love and joy.Sammy has previously taught several well-received programs at The Lifelong Learning Society (FAU) including :
