Performing Arts Week
The Professor
And Her Students
Performer: Dr. Irena Kofman
Course Description: Would you like to hear an unforgettable performance of a charming Mozart concerto? How about a passionate interpretation of the most beloved Grieg concerto, performed by a musician of international acclaim? Could you miss out on an open conversation and performance of a known prodigy? Hopefully this whets your musical appetite, but to truly make your mouth water, there will be performances by a nine year old virtuoso, who is a musician of international acclaim, and a six year old prodigy. All of these fantastic pianists are pupils of Dr. Irene Kofman, whom we are glad to have dually as a solo performer and a pedagogue. And thus we invite you to an open conversation and concerti with these young, highly acclaimed, hard-working musicians with the intent to bring genuine delight and unforgettable memories.
Biographical Information: Currently a member of the FAU Music Department faculty, Dr. Irena Kofman holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami and a Master of Music degree from the Moscow Conservatory in Russia, where she studied with renowned Russian pedagogues.
