THE PROFESSOR AND HER STUDENTS:
A VERY SPECIAL PIANO CONCERT
Performer/Lecturer: Dr. Irena Kofman
Would you like to hear an unforgettable performance of a charming Haydn concerto? How about a passionate interpretation of the most beloved Grieg concerto performed by a musician of international acclaim? Could you miss out on an open conversation and performance of a known prodigy? Hopefully this whets your musical appetite, but to truly make your mouth water, we concede that our Haydn performer is a nine year old virtuoso, the musician of international acclaim currently attends high school, and our prodigy has recently turned six. All of these fantastic pianists are pupils of Dr. Irena Kofman, whom we are glad to have dually as a solo performer and pedagogue. And thus we invite you to an open conversation and concerti with these young, highly acclaimed, hard-working musicians with the intent to bring genuine delight and unforgettable memories!
Biographical Information: Irena Kofman, currently a member of the FAU Music Department faculty, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami and Master of Music degree from the Moscow Conservatory in Russia, where she studied with renowned Russian pedagogues. She was the first prize winner of the International Chamber Music Competition in Latvia.
