Fundraising for the University is the primary objective of University Advancement.  Since funds provided by the state of Florida amount to only 36% of FAU's total budget, private dollars are crucial to the University's continued growth and commitment to academic excellence.  Directors of Development are assigned to FAU’s academic colleges, as well as to the FAU Libraries, athletics and partner campuses, and work diligently to solicit alumni, corporations, foundations and members of the community for financial support. 

University Advancement is also responsible for raising funds through Annual Giving, Gift Planning and Corporate and Foundation Relations.  The Development/Fundraising staff works in conjunction with the FAU Foundation, Inc., in its fundraising initiatives.
