| Dr. Berzok was invited to join the team of the University Controller's Office as an Associate Controller in April of 2005. In her position she has responsibility for general accounting, which monitors and maintains the integrity of the University's accounting system. General Accounting is responsible for the maintenance and review of the chart of accounts and the general ledger, reporting financial activity, preparation of financial statements, coordination and participation in the year end Audit with the State Auditors, preparation of monthly closings, journal entries, preparation and accounting for fixed assets, including depreciation. She oversees all construction accounts, inventory and record retention for the university. She maintains the status of Director of the Web On Line Forms System, which provides seamless electronic travel encumbrance and reimbursement processing to the end user. Dr. Berzok's extensive background as a strong analytical decision-maker with proven ability to direct diverse cross-functional business objectives, complements the management team. During her doctoral studies at Florida Atlantic University, she worked in the offices of the Vice President for Finance and Chief Fiscal Officer, and Chief Operating Officer, completed an internship in Graduate Studies and Research, and received the Newell Fellowship. Dr. Berzok holds a Baccalaureate Degree in English; a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in higher education administration. Dr. Berzok was instrumental in re-instituting the Graduate Programs Committee, co-designed graduate level programming in Educational Leadership for the Okeechobee Cohort, authored an instructional program design for women in leadership, and continues to assess, evaluate and implement innovative technology for improving strategic financial processes. She stresses the value of application solutions and is a proponent of distinct accessibility to realign upgraded services to internal departments. These re-engineering techniques are used to prioritize and refine decision-making processes on the divisional level. Dr. Berzok has lectured at Bryn Mawr College and is an adjunct professor, with desires to link the arts with technology and business management in higher education. Dr. Berzok is a member of Interinstitutional Committee on Finance and Accounting (ICOFA), the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO), Women in Technology, Florida Association of Women in Education, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) Kappa Delta Pi (International Education Honors Society) and Sigma Tau Delta (International English Honors Society), Dr. Berzok currently holds a Florida State Teacher's Certificate in English, and Quality Improvement Process Management Certification. She was awarded the Leadership Enhancement and Advancement Program (Leap) Scholarship in 1999 under the direction of the President's Commission on the Status of Women. |
