FAU Hosts Inaugural Research Day
BOCA RATON, FL (October 17, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Division of Research and Graduate Studies is hosting their inaugural research day. It will take place on Thursday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on FAU's Boca Raton campus at the Live Oak Pavilion, 777 Glades Road.
A welcome will be given by FAU President Frank T. Brogan and Dr. Larry Lemanski, Vice President for Research. This will be followed by an hour and a half, four-person panel discussion moderated by FAU Provost Dr. John Pritchett. The theme is "Opportunities and Challenges in Industry-University Collaborations." The public is encouraged to ask questions following the discussion.
After a lunch break, with research displays and exhibits from all of the FAU colleges present, there will be round table discussions lead by FAU researchers. Subjects include cancer research, research ethics and integrity, issues of aging, science in education, environmental research and disaster management.
The day will end with a summary of the round table discussions and closing remarks by Dr. Larry Lemanski.
