FAU Wilkes Honors College Speakers Forum Presents
Betty DiVosta with "An Insider's View of Success"
JUPITER, FL (October 3, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College presents Betty DiVosta as part of its Speakers Forum on Friday, October 7 at 1 p.m. in the MacArthur Auditorium, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter. DiVosta will give "An Insider's View of Success," which details her forty-year partnership with her husband "Buz" in the residential home building business.
DiVosta and Company, Inc. has built over 25,000 homes in South Florida ranging in price from $8,990 to $2,500,000. In the beginning, DiVosta was the company's banker, lawyer, accountant and salesperson, all while raising four children. As the company grew, DiVosta's responsibilities did not change, although she was assisted by a lawyer, a CPA and an accounting staff. She designed most of the financial worksheets that are still being used in the company's accounting office.
DiVosta is a member of the board of trustees of the Lost Tree Chapel and also donates her time to the Association of Retarded Citizens. In addition, she oversees the contributions and services provided to many charitable organizations by DiVosta and Company. The rest of her free time is spent enjoying time with her four children, their spouses and twelve grandchildren.
This presentation is part of the Wilkes Honors College Named Scholar Recognition Ceremony. The event is free and open to the public. A reception immediately follows the ceremony.
Reservations are suggested, as seating is limited. For more information, call 561-799-8620.
