FAU Ranks Among Top 100 Colleges and Universities in Producing Graduate Degrees for Minorities
BOCA RATON, FL (August 3, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University ranked as one of the top 100 institutions that awarded graduate degrees to minorities according to Black Issues in Higher Education, a magazine founded in 1984 that has been America's premier news source for information concerning important issues affecting African Americans.
"Florida Atlantic University is proud of the recognition it has received for its diversity," said FAU's Provost John Pritchett. "Indeed, our diversity adds significantly to the educational experiences enjoyed by all of our students."
Black Issues in Higher Education ranked FAU for the 2003-2004 academic year:

20th in the nation in conferring master's degrees to African-American students,

14th in the nation for awarding English Language and Literature/ Letters master's degrees to African-American students,

29th in the nation in awarding an English Language and Literature/ Letters master's among all minorities,

38th in the nation to award a master's degree in mathematics among all minorities,

42nd in the nation to confer engineering doctorate degrees among all minorities,

46th in the nation in Hispanic students who graduated with a master's in business, and
-
49th in the nation in conferring a Biology master's degree to Asian-American students.
