Armory Art Center Exhibition
Features Works of FAU Artists

BOCA RATON, FL (May 16, 2005) - The Armory Art Center of the Palm Beaches will feature the works of past and current graduate students from the Department of Visual Arts and Art History in Florida Atlantic University's School of the Arts in a two-part exhibition entitled "Process/Progression." These students earned their Master of Fine Arts degrees in painting and ceramics.

The first part of the exhibition, which will run from Tuesday, May 24 to Saturday, June 18, will feature the works of Elaine Carlson, Giannina Coppiano Dwin, Diana Jaffe, Kim Maxwell and Gerbi Tesarskaia. There will be an opening reception for this segment on Tuesday, May 24 at 6 p.m. and a panel discussion with the artists on Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. The second part of the exhibition will run from Tuesday, June 28 to Friday, July 29 and will feature the works of Nancy Deutscher, Sibel Kocabasi, Scott Lammer, Sam Perry and Brian Sommerville. The opening reception for this segment will be held on Tuesday, June 28 at 6 p.m. and a panel discussion will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 7 p.m.

"This is a great opportunity for us to partner with an organization as prestigious as the Armory Art Center," said Carol Prusa, associate professor in FAU's department of Visual Arts and Art History. "It allows us to showcase the unique talent of our graduate students to a new audience."

The hours at the Armory Art Center, located at 1700 Parker Avenue in West Palm Beach, are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For further information on the exhibition, call the Armory Art Center at 561-832-1776 or visit www.armoryart.org.
