FAU to Co-sponsor Conference on Ethics in Healthcare
BOCA RATON, FL (April 7, 2005) - The Florida Bioethics Network's annual spring conference, "Clinical Ethics: Debates, Decisions, Solutions," will take place Friday, April 8 from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. The conference will take place in the Wyndham Miami Beach Resort on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. The conference, co-sponsored by Florida Atlantic University's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, Nova Southeastern University, Barry University and The Children's Trust, will address many areas of health ethics. Randy Cohen, "The Ethicist" columnist for The New York Times Magazine, will give the keynote address.
The conference will feature sessions on the Terri Schiavo case, ethics and pediatrics, end-of-life care, hospital administration, genetic screening, ethics education, and ethics and dentistry. Presenters include physicians, administrators, legal scholars, educators, ethicists and others. The conference is designed for nurses, physicians, social workers, lawyers, clergy, psychologists, health administrators and others interested in clinical ethics. The conference is approved for continuing education credits.
