FAU Hosts Sexologist Marilyn Volker to Speak at Autism Lecture Series
BOCA RATON, FL (March 1, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) presents Dr. Marilyn Volker to speak on Monday, March 14 as part of CARD's Autism Spring Lecture Series. Her lecture will focus on sex education and the relationship challenges experienced by persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The lecture will begin on Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in FAU's University Center, Majestic Palm Room, Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Rd.
Volker has been a sexologist for the past 28 years, certified by the American Board of Sexology and the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. She teaches doctors, nurses, teachers, counselors, the United States Navy and Air Force about sexuality issues and HIV/AIDS issues. Volker develops HIV/AIDS curricula for the Miami-Dade Public School system and trains teachers nationwide. She teaches counselors to become sex therapists for the Florida Post-Graduate Sex Therapist Training Institute and the American Board of Sexology.
