FAU Offers Course in Digital Photography
BOCA RATON, FL (February 17, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University is offering a professional training program in digital photography and post image processing. The course begins on Wednesday, March 16 from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Social Sciences Building, Room 318, on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. The course is one session per week for 10 weeks.
This course, which offers both entry level and intermediate level classes, is designed to improve the technical skills of still-image users. The emphasis is to "digitally enhance" students' existing film-based skills toward modern high quality digital processes, equipment, methods and techniques. Students will learn about the world of digital imaging so that they can capture better pictures.
The instructor, Jim Wilson, is an FAU adjunct faculty member who is known in South Florida for his proficiency in digital imaging. Wilson, who authored the course lab manual, "Principles of Digital Imaging and Post Image Processing," has over 25 years of professional imaging experience, including coverage of several presidential inaugurations, engagements held at the United States Congress and the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he has been actively recording events with digital equipment for the NCAA and many FAU athletic and campus events.
The cost is $400, which includes the cost of the computer lab manual. Advance registration is required and the registration deadline is Wednesday, March 2.
