FAU Hosts Dance Marathon
to Help Children's Miracle Network
BOCA RATON, FL (February 16, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University will host its fourth annual Dance Marathon, themed "Dance a Night for Children's Lives," to raise money and awareness for the Children's Miracle Network. The event will begin Saturday, March 19 at 7 p.m. and continue through Sunday, March 20 at 11 a.m. in the FAU Gymnasium, Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.
Dance Marathon is the largest student run charity in the world. Its mission is to provide fundraising support for the Children's Miracle Network which benefits the Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida. It was started by Penn State University in 1973. Today, dozens of universities across America raise money for the Children's Miracle Network's participating hospitals. FAU encourages students, faculty, staff and community members to get involved. All proceeds help purchase medical equipment, provide diversionary activities for children and help fund medical research.
