Turkish American Leaders Meet
at FAU's Baldwin House
BOCA RATON, FL (February 16, 2005) - Representatives from the Turkish American Business, Education and Cultural Development Committee (TABEC) were guests at an afternoon tea on Sunday, January 20 at the Eleanor R. Baldwin House on Florida Atlantic University's Boca Raton campus.
On behalf of the University, FAU President and Mrs. Frank T. Brogan thanked the members of TABEC, who under the leadership of their president Sue Gencsoy, have generously established the Kenan Evren Chair in Turkish Business Studies within FAU's College of Business. A gift of $5,000 to this Chair was made at the tea by
Inci Cetin of Turkey. Mrs. Cetin is the wife of Hikmet Cetin, NATO's senior civilian representative in Afghanistan.
Ann Paton, FAU vice president for university advancement, was in attendance along with William Stronge, director of FAU's international programs. "We are so proud to have formed such a productive collaboration with the TABEC membership," said Paton. "Their efforts on behalf of economic and academic growth will benefit our students, faculty and community in the years to come."
