Ronald Reagan Advisor Peter Hannaford to Speak at
FAU Distinguished Lecture Series on the American Presidency
BOCA RATON, FL (January 18, 2005) - Former Ronald Reagan advisor Peter Hannaford will speak on Thursday, January 20 as part of Florida Atlantic University's Distinguished Lecture Series on the American Presidency. He will speak on his recollections of former President Reagan.
Hannaford's lecture will begin on Thursday, January 20 at 9:45 a.m. on FAU's Jupiter campus at the Abacoa Crown Theater, 4688 Main Street, Jupiter and at 6:30 p.m. at FAU's Boca Raton campus, Lifelong Learning Auditorium, 777 Glades Rd.
Hannaford worked with Ronald Reagan in many capacities, from director of public affairs in Reagan's California governor's office, to director of issues and research for Reagan's 1976 presidential nomination campaign, to senior communications advisor for Reagan's 1980 presidential campaign. In addition, Hannaford was the Republican nominee in 1972 for the U.S. House of Representatives California's 7th Congressional District seat. He also was an assistant to the governor and director of public affairs for Governor Reagan in Sacramento. In that position, Hannaford supervised the press office, speech research office, community relations unit and the state's Office of Information Services.
Hannaford's books include four about Ronald Reagan: The Reagans: A Political Portrait (1983); Remembering Reagan (1994); Recollections of Reagan (1997); and The Quotable Ronald Reagan (1998).
