BOCA RATON, FL (November 23, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University's Chamber Soloists Judith Burganger and Leonid Treer will appear in concert with Heather Coltman and the Florida Woodwind Quintet in two concerts. The first concert will be on Saturday, December 4 at 2 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium on FAU's Davie campus, 2912 College Avenue. There will be a repeat performance on Sunday, December 5 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU's Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. General admission is $15 with group discounts available. FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni may obtain free admission with ID.

The concerts will include Mozart's "Quintet in E flat Major," Rimsky-Korsakoff's "Quintet in B flat Major" and Poulenc's "Sextet." Treer and Burganger are the artistic directors for the concerts. The two pianists have been with FAU for over 20 years, performing concerts lauded by audiences for their brilliance, fire and passion. Burganger has been a guest artist with noted orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the American Symphony and the National Symphony. She has also toured in Canada, Europe, Japan and China, where she and Treer were invited to perform concerts and teach master classes in two of the world's most prestigious music conservatories: The Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Treer was born in the former Soviet Union and began his studies at the age of six. He has performed throughout the former USSR, Europe, United States, Israel and the People's Republic of China as a soloist, chamber musician and lecturer-performer.

Coltman is the chair of FAU's music department. She has performed extensively as a solo and collaborative pianist throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, South Africa and Greece. She made her debut in her native country of Zambia at the age of five and emigrated to the United States in 1966. Among the many competitions in which she has received top awards are the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition and the Geza Anda International Piano Competition. In addition, she won the Outstanding Accompanist Award in both the Corpus Christi Young Artists Competition and the Emanuel Feurmann International Cello Competition.

The Florida Woodwind Quintet is made up of Elissa Lakofsky, flute; Robert Weiner, oboe; Paul Green, clarinet; Arthur Weisberg, clarinet; and David Peel, french horn.
