FAU to Hold Internet Mathematics Competition
BOCA RATON, FL (November 15, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University's Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association of Southeast Florida will host the Ninth Annual Internet Mathematics Competition.
The competition is open to all high school students in Palm Beach, Martin and Broward counties. All interested students are encouraged to participate by trying to solve selected math problems between Monday, November 22, 2004 and Friday, January 7, 2005. Prizes of $300, $200 and $100, in addition to book prizes will be given to those students placing first, second and third, respectively. Other contestants with qualifying performances will also receive book prizes.
