FAU Graduates Fourth Certified
Medical Business Management Class
BOCA RATON, FL (October 15, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University's College of Business recently named sixteen students Certified Medical Business Managers after they completed a year-long executive education program. This is the fourth class to complete the requirements of the program. Since 2002, the program has certified close to ninety graduates.
"Our goal is to set a standard of professionalism for practice management," said Carl Riegel, chair of the Department of Industry Studies in FAU's College of Business. "This program is designed to help practices run smoothly, effectively and efficiently, and to address the increasing complexities of managing medical practices."
The program includes the study of medical terminology, billing and coding, insurance, financial and accounting principles, legal and regulatory issues, advanced financial management, marketing, practice development, organizational development, productivity management, computer applications, human resource management, compensation, and administrative support.
The program stems from a unique collaborative partnership between the College of Business, Rachlin, Cohen and Holtz Healthcare Advisors, the Palm Beach County Medical Society and the Broward County Medical Association.
