FAU Ranks Among Top 100 Colleges and Universities
In Graduating Minority Students
BOCA RATON, FL (June 11, 2003) -- Florida Atlantic University ranked as one of the top 100 four-year colleges and universities for minority students. Black Issues in Higher Education, a magazine published bi-weekly that focuses on education issues for African Americans and other minorities, ranked FAU 23rd in the nation, an increase of 12 rankings from that of last year, for the number of bachelor's degrees conferred to African-American students.
"Florida Atlantic University works relentlessly to serve its community by enrolling quality students of all ethnic backgrounds," said FAU President Frank Brogan. "Certainly, being recognized as one of the top universities for this accomplishment is a real honor."
For the 2002-03 academic year, approximately 117,600 bachelor's degrees were conferred to African-American students throughout the United States.
