FAU's Virtual MBA Earns National Awards
BOCA RATON, FL (April 6, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University's Virtual MBA Program in the College of Business was nationally ranked fourth in its recent survey of the top distance learning MBA programs in the country and awarded a "Best Buy MBA" designation by GetEducated.com. In 1989, GetEducated.com designed and directed America's first online counseling center for adult learners seeking accredited online college degrees. Its mission is to help consumers get educated about what it takes to succeed in online learning.
All Top 25 award winners were "judged to deliver a high quality distance degree to a national audience at a tuition below the national average," according to the GetEducated.com survey team. GetEducated.com reviewed business graduate schools accredited by AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the premier accreditation agency in the world. The survey is conducted biennially by an independent editorial team based on a review of competing options. The results of the survey are available in the guidebook titled GetEducated.com's Best Distance Learning Graduate Schools, Business & Management 2004.
FAU's VMBA program has also been named one of the nation's top 25 online graduate business programs by U.S. News & World Report. To create this ranking the magazine surveyed 2,000 programs and evaluated each one on a number of different criteria. U.S. News & World Report limited its list to accredited programs, noting that these accrediting boards "
set rigorous standards for higher education
"
"We are extremely proud of these rankings," said Dr. Bruce Mallen, dean of the College of Business. "These achievements confirm the progress we are making in establishing FAU's College of Business as a top-tier business school nationally."
