Joint Campus to Host FFEA Networking Conference ST. LUCIE WEST, FL (March
26, 2004) - The Florida Atlantic University / Indian River Community College
Joint Campus in St. Lucie West is hosting the Florida Future Educators of America
2nd Annual Conference on Saturday, April 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. FFEA is a
nationally recognized organization that provides support and networking opportunities
for students pursuing careers in education.
"Both the IRCC and FAU chapters have increased their membership, held fundraisers
and become involved in a number of community activities," said Dr. Mary Lou
Goldberg, coordinator of FAU's Accelerated Induction into Teaching Program. "We
anticipate an exceptional turnout for this year's expanded conference. All prospective
and beginning teachers are invited to enjoy this experience."
The conference will feature breakout sessions which spotlight hot teaching topics
such as "First Days of School" based on the studies of Harry Wong, a
renowned expert in effective teaching practices for beginning educators, and "Three
Strikes You're Out: What Works in Classroom Management."
