Woodwind Chamber Group and FAU Brass Choir Present "An Afternoon in Italy" BOCA
RATON (March 29, 2004) - The Department of Music
in Florida Atlantic University's School of the Arts presents "An Afternoon
in Italy," featuring the FAU Woodwind Chamber Group and FAU Brass Choir.
The concert will take place Saturday, April 3 at 2 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium
on FAU's Davie campus, 2912 College Avenue. General admission is $12 and $15,
with group discounts available. FAU students, faculty and staff receive free admission.
The Woodwind Chamber Group, under the
direction of Elissa Lakofsky, will be performing well known and beloved Italian
songs including famous arias by Puccini. The woodwind trio, the Tri-Owls, will
perform music of the Italian composer Lotti and the FAU saxophone sextet will
perform music by G. Pierne and J. Massenet. The Brass Choir, under the direction
of Brian Neal, will perform "Gabrieli Canzona per sonare #2," "
Albinoni Adagio" and Gordon Jacobs "Music for a Festival."
