NAMED PRESIDENT OF FARMWORKER COORDINATING COUNCIL BOCA
RATON, FL (March 18, 2004) - Sergio Palacio has been elected president of
the Farmworker Coordinating Council of Palm Beach County, a non-profit organization
that provides social and human services to farmworkers and their families.
Palacio, who is director of business services at Florida Atlantic University,
has been a member of the Farmworker Coordinating Council board for two years.
His term as president will begin April 1.
Founded in 1977 by a small group of volunteers, the Farmworker Coordinating Council
is now a United Way agency with multiple funding sources. Its mission is to promote
self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of migrant and seasonal farmworkers
through education, advocacy and access to services. -FAU- |
