FAU Hosts Lecture by Congressman Robert Wexler on
Israel and the Middle East Crisis

Symposia Lecture Series
BOCA RATON, FL (January 21, 2004) The Florida Atlantic University Presidential Symposia Lecture Series presents Congressman Robert Wexler tomorrow on Thursday, January 22 at 3:45 p.m. at the Barry and Florence Friedberg Auditorium on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Wexler is speaking on the topic of Israel and the Middle East Crisis.
Wexler is a well-known expert on Israel and the Middle East, and currently chair of the Turkish Caucus in Congress. He will draw on his trips to the Middle East and meetings with various Middle East leaders to examine the current crisis in the Middle East, with particular attention to the peace process, efforts to democratize the region by the United States, the U.S. war on terror and the U.S. political role in the region.
Wexler is a member of Congress, serving his fourth term in the United States House of Representatives. He has earned the reputation of a straight-forward and articulate legislator who energetically advocates for his constituents. By his second term, Wexler had already been named one of the "50 Most Effective Legislators in Congress" by the influential magazine Congressional Quarterly.
The Presidential Symposia is coordinated by Dr. Robert P. Watson, assistant professor of political science at FAU, and sponsored by the FAU Lifelong Learning Society. This is the second lecture in an eight-week lecture series. The series is being held every Thursday through March 4 from 3:45 5:30 p.m. The cost for the lecture series is $55 for LLS member and $75 for nonmembers. For more information, call 561-297-3171.
