FAU's Trio Amadé Releases New CD at Concerts
BOCA RATON (January 13, 2004) - Trio Amadé, Florida Atlantic University's School of the Arts ensemble-in-residence, will celebrate the release of its debut CD entitled "Obseción" at two concerts. The first performance will be Saturday, January 17 at 2 p.m. in the College of Liberal Arts Auditorium on FAU's Davie Campus, 2912 College Avenue. The second concert will be Sunday, January 18 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU's Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.
The concert program includes the Four Seasons by Piazzolla, Felix Mendelssohn's C minor piano trio and NTango by trio member Emilio Colón. These pieces are also featured on the CD, which will be available at the concert for $15. They can also be purchased by contacting FAU's music department at 561-297-3820.
Trio Amadé, made up of pianist Heather Coltman, violinist Felicia Moye and cellist Emilio Colón, is internationally acclaimed for its artistry. Coltman, chair of FAU's Department of Music, has performed more than 400 recitals, concerto appearances and radio broadcasts throughout the United States and in Canada, Switzerland, France, Germany, Greece and South Africa. Moye studied at the Juilliard School under Ivan Galamian, Felix Galimir, and members of the Juilliard Quartet. She has been a member of the San Francisco Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and served as first violinist with the Miami String Quartet. Colón studied at the Indiana University School of Music under Janos Starker. A former member of the Casals festival orchestra, he has performed as soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra, Quito Symphony Orchestra, Bloomington Pops and tours internationally as a master class clinician.
General admission is $12 and $15, with group discounts available. FAU students, faculty and staff are free with ID.
