Israeli Business Leader and Presidential Advisor
to Speak at Awards Luncheon
DAVIE, FL (November 24, 2003) - Florida Atlantic University's Florida-Israel Institute will present Shlomo Nimrodi, a leading Israeli business executive and advisor to the late President Yitzhak Rabin, as the keynote speaker at the 2003 Israel Business Appreciation Awards Ceremony and Luncheon.
Nimrodi was CFO and COO of Indigo, an Israeli company that revolutionized the print industry with its digital printing system and was recently sold to Hewlett Packard for nearly $1 billion. Since 1983, he has been involved in U.S./Israel business relations, notably as liaison between Digital Equipment Corporation and the Israel Ministry of Defense.
The awards presented go to those organizations that have contributed to enhancing Florida-Israel business relationships. The 2003 award recipients include Akerman Senterfitt, Atico International, Beacon Council, Broward Alliance, Caliber Sales Engineering, Economic Development Commission of Metro Orlando, Enterprise Florida, Greenberg Traurig, Haifa INC. and Holland & Knight.
The luncheon is presented by the Consulate General of Israel to Florida and Puerto Rico and is hosted by the Consulate General of Israel, the Florida-Israel Institute at Florida Atlantic University and the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP.
The event will be Friday, December 5 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Signature Grand, 6900 State Road 84, Davie and is by invitation only, though media are welcome. For information on the awards luncheon, call 954-236-1056.
