BOCA RATON, FL (December 1, 2003) - As the cutting edge field of computer science continues to grow, Florida Atlantic University will help the industry create more leaders. Beginning in January 2004, FAU will launch an 11-month Weekend Executive Master's Degree Program in Computer Science.
The Executive MS program in Computer Science provides education with an emphasis on Internet and Web technologies. The program consists of 11 courses that encompass 33 credit-hours of graduate work. Courses that comprise the program are Internet application programming, web services, network security, computer networking, wireless networks, advanced Internet engineering and other coursework.
This program is tailored specifically for professionals from high-tech industries. Students will attend formal classes, about one weekend a month, and the remaining classes are delivered through the latest distance learning technology, teleconferencing and state-of-the-art e-learning facilities offered through the Web. This format allows participants to pursue their academic goals while maintaining their employment.
An application process is required for acceptance into the program. Students must hold a baccalaureate degree in computer science or a related field, in addition to acceptable scores on the TOEFL and GRE. The cost of the program is $750 per credit-hour. There is a group rate for sponsoring organizations that enroll more than three students. Fees include textbooks, materials and tutorial support, if necessary.
