Hillel To Break Ground On A New Life Center At FAU
BOCA RATON, FL (December 22, 2003) Florida Atlantic University and Hillel will break ground this summer on the Mildred and Abner Levine and Ruth and Saul Weinberger Jewish Life Center on the Boca Raton campus.
The life center will be an addition to all five floors of the S.E. Wimberly Library. The first floor will house the Hillel offices, the Phyllis and Gerald Golden Pavilion/Program Center, and the Bette and Jerome Lorber Hub, which will have a coffee shop and student and staff work spaces.
The second floor of the library will be an expansion of the student run all-night study area. The third, fourth and fifth floors will all be extended and include expansion of the Jaffe collection and other special compilations.
It is wonderful to know that we will soon have a home for Jewish life at FAU, said Bradley Laye, chief executive officer of Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach. With nearly 2,000 Jewish students on the Boca Raton campus, FAU is poised to become one of the centers for Jewish student life in the state.
