Scripps Faculty Named To FAU Spin-Off Company Board
BOCA RATON, FL (November 25, 2003) -- Forseti Biosciences, Inc., Florida Atlantic Universitys first faculty start-up biotechnology company, announced the appointment of Dr. Steven I. Reed, Professor, of the Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) to the Forseti Scientific Advisory Board.
A world-renowned leader in the area of cell cycle research, Dr. Reed became the ninth member of the advisory board, which is designed to advise Forsetis Management on science-related issues.
"The appointment of Dr. Reed indicates a strong commitment of Forseti to identify top scientific talent to guide our mission of novel diagnosis and treatment of cancer, said. Dr. Ramaswamy Narayanan, president and CEO of Forseti and professor of biological sciences at FAU. Participation of a Scripps scientist in a advisory capacity in first faculty start-up biotech company at FAU (Forseti) is one of the many examples of what TSRI can bring to the Florida-based biotech initiative.
A graduate of Stanford University, Dr. Reed has been with TSRI for 17 years.
