FAU Inaugurates Fifth President

BOCA RATON, FL (November 10, 2003) -- Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees Chairman George C. Zoley conferred Frank T. Brogan as the fifth president of FAU during an inauguration ceremony today at the University Center Auditorium, located on the Boca Raton Campus.

The ceremony included delegates from academic institutions throughout the country and presentations from students, faculty and staff.

A series of inaugural events, themed "Celebrating Excellence," were held on university campuses from Port St. Lucie to Davie. The events kicked off with a Board of Trustees meeting held at the downtown Fort Lauderdale campus and a Dynamic Communities Luncheon on Wednesday, a Learning for Life Expo and a Sundance Festival: A Showcase of Our Diverse Communities on Thursday, in addition to other events.

Nearly 2,000 students, faculty, staff and community leaders participated in expos, luncheons and celebrations highlighting the diversity at FAU and community partnerships established at each of the campuses.

All of the events were free and open to the public.
