FAU MacArthur Campus Presents Abstract & Fractal
Art Exhibit by Lee Batterman
JUPITER, FL (October 2, 2003) - Florida Atlantic University presents the exhibition of Lee chai 'ah Batterman, "Abstract Space - Fractal Space - Face to Face." The exhibition runs Wednesday, October 1 through Friday, November 7 in the MacArthur Library Atrium at 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter.
"Those paintings which are done in abstract space are created with spontaneity, subjectivity and with feeling of freedom expressed through the use of color, form and line," Batterman stated. "I have introduced 'fractals' into my painting looking for new dimensions in my spatial work. Each rectangle emerges as an entity, a completed painting with its own composition, style and space."
An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, October 8 at 4 p.m. in the Library Atrium, MacArthur campus. At the reception, community members will "Meet the Artist." Batterman is a local artist and author, who teaches Hebrew and serves as a librarian at Temple Beth David in Palm Beach Gardens. The reception is free and open to the public. An RSVP is requested by Monday, October 6 to Judi Bowe at 561-799-8531 or jbowe@fau.edu.
The MacArthur Library Atrium is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. For further information on the exhibit, please contact Terry Gearing at
