Downtown Fort Lauderdale Campus
Last year, to mark the first anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, FAU opened a one-day exhibit in which visitors interacted with displays representing each of the terrorist attack sites. Then, those individuals recorded their thoughts in the "Book of Reflections." This year, the book will be on display once again for visitors to read last year's reflections and contribute new thoughts to the growing collection. For more information, contact broward@fau.edu.
Boca Raton Campus
Students, staff and faculty are invited to activities coordinated through Student Government, including: the creation of a time capsule to mark September 11, the viewing of visual quotes along FAU's Breezeway by famous activists for world peace, and reflection on the events of September 11th with a speaker. For more information, contact the Student Government office at 561-297-3740.
Many of FAU's Greek organizations will be holding candle light ceremonies in the evening in remembrance of the September 11th victims.
Treasure Coast Campus
Students, faculty and staff will join in a moment of silence at 8:45 a.m. at the 9-11 Memorial Garden located in front of the JU building. Flowers will be available for attendees to place at the base of the memorial plaque in recognition of the September 11th victims.
