FAU Professor Robert Watson to Talk on "Madam President" at Barnes & Noble
BOCA RATON (July 15, 2003) - Dr. Robert P. Watson, a member of the Florida Atlantic University Department of Political Science, will talk about his new book, "Anticipating Madam President," and sign copies, on Tuesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Boca Raton. The event is free and open to the public. Barnes & Noble is located at 1400 Glades Road in Boca Raton, just east of I-95.
Co-edited with Ann Gordon, professor of political science at Ohio University, "Anticipating Madam President" discusses why the United States has yet to elect a woman president. In the book, 19 political scientists, communications analysts and consultants share their views and research on the subject; they also speculate about when a woman might be elected president and what the significance will be for the women's movement, the office and the nation.
"The White House has been America's ultimate tree house, with a 'No Girls Allowed' sign posted on it," says U.S. Representative and one-time presidential candidate Pat Schroeder in a foreword to the book.
For further information on the event, please contact Barnes & Noble at 561-750-2134.
